CARTaGENE is a research platform at CHU Sainte-Justine aimed at providing researchers with the ressources to facilitate their research on human health and disease. CARTaGENE is made up of both biological samples and data on the health and lifestyle of 40,000 Quebecois aged between 40-69 years. Genotyping and sequencing data are gradually being added to the CARTaGENE database in order to identify the genetic causes of diseases in the Quebec population.

In collaboration with the scientific direction of CARTaGENE, the bioinformatician will participate in the quality control and analysis of the genetic data generated on the participants of the cohort (e.g. pan-genomic genotyping (GWAS), pan-exonic/-genomic sequencing). The bioinformatician will also be able to participate in the creation of databases of genetic variation or of genetic association results, as well as writing scientific articles and presenting at meetings.
