class=\"ft-contenu__body-col col-12 col-lg-8\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"ft-contenu__texte\"><p>The risk of developing breast cancer varies from person to person due to a combination of genetic and non-genetic factors. As part of the PERSPECTIVE research program, this project aimed to better understand the role of genetic variants associated with breast cancer by studying women with breast cancer and cancer-free controls from several international cohorts, including CARTaGENE. The analyses helped estimate how common certain genetic variants are in the population and assess their contribution to breast cancer risk. The research also confirmed the importance of several known breast cancer susceptibility genes and identified new candidate genes that may be associated with low to moderate increases in risk. These findings contribute to improving risk prediction tools that combine genetic information, family history, and other risk factors, helping to support more personalized approaches to breast cancer
