class=\"ft-contenu__body-col col-12 col-lg-8\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"ft-contenu__texte\"><p>Ulcerative colitis (UC) is an inflammatory bowel disease whose exact causes remain poorly understood. Factors such as age, sex, lifestyle, and genetics can all influence how the disease develops. In a study examining responses to targeted molecular therapies, several genetic variants previously linked to treatment outcomes were identified among individuals with UC. This project aims to compare how frequently these variants appear in people with UC versus their frequency in the general Qu\u00e9bec population without inflammatory bowel disease, using the CARTaGENE cohort as a reference. The study includes 101 participants, recruited at the CIUSSS Saguenay\u2013Lac-Saint-Jean, whose DNA was analyzed through genotyping and sequencing. Comparing the variants between the two groups will help identify those that are more common among individuals with UC. These results could improve understanding of the genetic factors involved in UC development and help support more personalized treatment
