As wildfires become more frequent and severe across Canada, there is a growing need to better understand how exposure to wildfire smoke and heat affects health, as well as which actions can help reduce these risks.<br \/>\nThe CARTaGENE air pollution (CAP) study uses data from the CARTaGENE cohort to examine exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and heat from both wildfire and non\u2011wildfire sources. Low\u2011cost sensors installed in the homes of older participants will measure indoor and outdoor air quality and temperature over several years. By linking these environmental data with health, lifestyle, and genetic information, the study will assess health impacts and evaluate the effectiveness of risk\u2011reduction strategies. The results will help guide public health recommendations to better protect older adults from air pollution and
