class=\"ft-contenu__body-col col-12 col-lg-8\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"ft-contenu__texte\"><p>Breast and prostate cancers are among the most common cancers in Canada, yet modifiable environmental risk factors remain poorly understood. This project examines whether long\u2011term exposure to air pollution at work and at home increases the risk of developing these cancers. The study uses data from more than 10,000 participants in the CARTaGENE cohort who provided detailed occupational and residential histories. New cases of breast and prostate cancer were identified through linkage with the Quebec Cancer Registry. Occupational exposure to air pollutants is estimated using a Canadian job\u2011exposure matrix, while residential exposure is assessed using advanced environmental models. The study also explores whether certain periods of life are more sensitive to these exposures. Findings will help improve understanding of environmental factors related to breast and prostate cancer and support prevention
