class=\"ft-contenu__body-col col-12 col-lg-8\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"ft-contenu__texte\"><p>Climate change is increasing the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, such as heat waves. These conditions pose a significant risk to the health, safety, and productivity of agricultural workers in Quebec, whose work is often physically demanding and carried out outdoors. Excessive heat can cause physical symptoms, increase workplace injuries, and worsen existing health conditions. It can also lead to psychosocial effects such as stress, anxiety, and absenteeism, resulting in productivity losses and higher economic costs.<br \/>\nThis project uses data from the CARTaGENE cohort, linked with medical and environmental data, to estimate the health and economic impacts of extreme weather events on agricultural workers. It will also assess the cost\u2011effectiveness of practical adaptation measures, such as shade structures and adjusted work schedules. The findings will support public and private decision\u2011making to better protect this essential
