Phenotype of neurotensin receptor NTS1 polymorphisms

The neurotensin receptor NTS1 is involved in multiple physiological processes and diseases, including cancer, and a specific genetic variant may alter its function. This project aims to determine whether the V304I mutation is associated with specific pathological phenotypes and whether it has predictive or prognostic value. Analyses use data from CARTaGENE and other sources to study approximately 270 carriers of this variant. Preliminary results suggest that the mutation may be associated with more severe forms of certain conditions. These findings may support the development of targeted therapies and personalized medicine approaches.
