Summary

Chronic kidney disease can weaken bones and increase the risk of fractures. This project aims to better understand the links between kidney function, bone health, and blood biomarkers in order to identify individuals who are at greater risk. Results obtained so far show that people with mild to moderate chronic kidney disease have a higher risk of fractures and that certain bone metabolism markers, as well as physical frailty, may help predict these complications. This research will contribute to improving the prevention and management of bone complications associated with chronic kidney disease.
