Genetic and non‑genetic factors influencing age‑related conditions and diseases

Quebec’s population is aging rapidly, leading to a growing burden of chronic diseases. This project uses data from more than 43,000 CARTaGENE participants to better understand the genetic and environmental factors that influence healthy aging.
The study focuses on the exposome (such as pollution) and genetic factors, and their role in age‑related conditions including cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and cognitive decline. By combining longitudinal health data with environmental and genetic information, this research aims to clarify the causes of age‑related disease and mortality in Quebec and support more targeted prevention strategies.
